DFID Regional Coordinator South-East/South-South Visits ANEEJ
BENIN CITY-NIGERIA. January 24, 2020.. The Regional Coordinator, South-East and South-South Nigeria of DFID, Mrs. Olachi Chuks Ronnie, who was on a working visit to Edo State Nigeria today paid a visit to the Leadership of the Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice (ANEEJ) at its corporate headquarters in Benin City, Edo State. She was accompanied on the visit by head of the SoSIN Project of Palladium, Dr. Esohe Aghatise.
She commended ANEEJ for the visibility its MANTRA project is giving to the ACORN programme of DFID and urged the leadership of the organization not to rest on its oars in fighting corruption in the country.
Welcoming the DFID Coordinator earlier, Executive Director of ANEEJ, the Rev David Ugolor thanked her for the visit. He equally expressed profound gratitude to DFID Nigeria for supporting ANEEJ since 2018, adding that the support to a National NGO has shown that local organisations can also effectively manage donors’ funds just like other entities that DFID use to channel development aid. “This is a pleasant surprise and we are glad to see you in our office.”
High point of the visit was the presentation of MANTRA field monitoring report to Mrs. Olachi Chuks Ronnie by the Executive Director of ANEEJ, Rev David Ugolor. Also present at the visit is the Deputy Executive Director of ANEEJ, Mr. Leo Atakpu.
