ANEEJ MOURNS IAN SQUIRE, BRITISH HUMANITARIAN

Management and Staff of the Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice, ANEEJ, are saddened to learn of the death of Ian Squire, in the Niger Delta. According to reports, Mr Squire, 56, was an optician who had been working with the Christian Health Charity New Foundation, training Niger Deltans to carry out sight tests and dispense prescription glasses. He was kidnapped from of Enekorogha on 13th October, 2017 by hoodlums. Prior to this Mr Squire had developed a solar-powered, portable lens-grinding machine for a clinic in a community without power supply.

ANEEJ condemns this barbaric act and urges the Federal Government of Nigeria to work round the clock to bring the murderers of Mr Ian Squire to book. Our hearts and prayers go to his family.

MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE.
